
WGBY (Western Massachusetts PBS affiliate) offers a new local show, Eco-Exchange, that features interviews with academics and business people working in energy-related fields.
Marla Michel (left), University of Massachusetts at Amherst research liaison and development director, talked with show host Sandy Thomas (above, second from left). Current research was talked about including biofuels being developed by George Huber, chemical engineering professor, and peptides under scrutiny as a way to improve fuel cell membranes discussed by Jeanne Hardy biological chemist professor.
Eco-Exchange airs Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., only on WGBY. Full episodes also available for download and as streaming video.
Thomas has been active in the field of energy issues since 1995, working for the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), a non-profit organization. She created and managed the Greenfield Energy Park in 1999 to educate consumers about renewable energy.

Since 2004, she was also the director of the biggest conference and trade show in the northeast for professionals in the field of clean energy and green buildings: BuildingEnergy.
