First Niagara has created a new small business banking team for the New England region, serving Connecticut and
Western Massachusetts businesses with less than $2 million in sales.
The team consists of Jorge De La Rosa of New Haven; Bill Hice of Hamden; Gus Kasparis of
Fairfield; Mayra Santiago of New Britain; Robert Torres of Middletown;
and David Williams of Newington. The addition of West Springfield’s Jason Rivera to the team was announced in March.
Created in response to what is perceived as a "significant, unfulfilled market opportunity to serve small businesses in the region with the same level of expertise and support that is often provided to middle market and larger" companies, team members will report to John Delgadillo of Vernon, newly appointed vice president of small business banking for the New England Region.

Google And SBA Team Up To Build Business
Google and the SBA join forces on Wednesday, May 5, 11 a.m. (Eastern Time), to unveil an array of online resources, tools, and training designed to help small business owners harness technology to grow their businesses.
The public and online forum event and related discussion will also feature the release of new videos featuring the stories and successes of real small business owners describing how technology and guidance from Google and the SBA have helped them to succeed in the marketplace.
The webinar will be moderated by Karen Mills, SBA administrator, and will feature John Hanke, vice president, product management at Google, as well as Susan Holt, principal and owner of CulinAerie, a Washington, D.C.-based small business.
Holt will share her experiences working with the SBA and using online tools like Google Places and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to improve and grow her business.
