UCAA Board of Directors, Officers

The University of Connecticut Alumni Association (UCAA) announced today new and returning members of the Board of Directors for fiscal year 2011-2012. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Alumni Association and is elected by its members.

This year, three new members were elected and three incumbents were re-elected to the board: Liana Fresher ’85 (Manchester), Mikki Meadows-Oliver ’06 (Hamden), and Alicia Young ’95 (Port Chester, NY) are new members. Re-elected board members, who will serve until 2014 are Eric Judge ’87, ’92 (Windsor), Francis Onofrio ’81 (Kensington), and David Sturgess ’78 (Wethersfield). Adam Apicella ’12 (Clinton) president, Student Alumni Association, appointed to serve a one-year term as student representative.

Board members of University of Connecticut Alumni Association (UCAA) elected the following officers for the 2011-2012 fiscal year: Dennis Cavanaugh ’78 (Glastonbury) president; Frank Milone ’92 (Amston) immediate past president; David Sturgess ’78 (Wethersfield) president-elect; Laura Cahill ’84 (Glastonbury) secretary; and Lori Riiska ’84 (Winsted) treasurer. All are Connecticut residents.

Board members are elected to serve a three-year term and may be re-elected to serve for an additional consecutive term. Officers of the board are elected annually in June and serve for one year.

Formed in 1888, UCAA has more than 220,000 alumni worldwide.
