Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Hayes announced a major collaboration between the Department of the Interior, the Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to support the 7.2 million acre Connecticut River and Watershed National
Blueway, created in May 2012.
The announcement was made on Sept. 29, National Public Lands Day, the largest
single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the United States.
